Relic

$2,800.00

36 x 48 inches

Painting on canvas

Material: pencil, acrylic and oil paint on canvas

Artist’s Notes:

Like much of my work, this piece started out in a different place than it finished. Originally a painting of a man-made glass chandelier, it didn't quite satisfy me for years. I reworked it many years after it began, layering on oil color and teasing out natural forms from abstract shapes.

This reworking process became an exploration of the deep connection between humans and nature. The muted palette of earthy tones, interspersed with hints of blue, evokes a sense of tranquility and reflection. The central positioning of the floral shapes, accentuated by delicate white outlining, imbues them with a sense of reverence, almost as if they are sacred offerings.
